                                 Biography

The Generals was formed in 2002 in a rehearsal studio in Åmål, but today they have their base in Karlstad, Sweden. The purpose was to play dirty rock ‘n’ roll, but soon their music evolved to a mix of different styles – or as Marcus Grahn (Aftonbladet/Close-Up) said “the music is like a Death metal-cigarette with a Rock ‘n’ Roll-filter”. This statement is probably based on the fact that most of the members have a broad taste in music – from blues to death metal. Through the years The Generals’ music has become both harder and refined; today the band is about hard but appealing music that brings to mind bands like Entombed and Motörhead.

In 2008 The Generals recorded their debut album “Stand Up Straight” at the well-renowned Sunlight Studios with Tomas Skogsberg (Entombed, The Hellacopters) as the producer. He contacted the band after he had heard their demo which he thought was the best by a Swedish band since “Wolverine Blues”! Without hesitation the band went to Norrtälje.

With a good reputation and more than a hundred gigs, more people started to notice the band; especially on the live scene where one can easily see their joy for playing, their energy and professionalism. They have played in the country’s largest cities, in Åland and at several festivals. They took part in two large music contests and won both. Record companies, promoters and industry people began to notice the band. In August 2009 The Generals signed with Metalcentral Records.
